One if by Land, Two if By Sea – Nitin & Elizabeth’s Stunning Yacht Wedding

By | Weddings | One Comment

This past June graced me with the opportunity of working for and becoming good friends with a wonderful family. The family was looking for someone to orchestrate dual-weddings for their children, both of which were to happen within the span of 4 days time! These photos are from day 1, their son Nitin’s wedding to his beautiful bride Elizabeth. Their traditional Indian ceremony was held at the house in Oyster Bay with the reception was at The Atlantica Yacht in Chelsea.

All photos © Danny Weiss, an amazing talent.

Check back soon for days 2-4 to feature their daughter Kavita’s amazing nuptials!

A very special thank you to Allan Zepeda Photography and Carlos Andres Varela Photography for these beautiful photos of our work!

A Traditional Wedding in a Modern NYC Venue Mandarin Oriental Hotel NY

By | Weddings | No Comments

Jacqueline and Yavar were married this past April at the Mandarin Oriental in NYC. Jacqueline, who is of Chinese decent, was looking for a traditional look for this modern venue and was not apposed to the use of white for her wedding décor. We chose a floral palette of white, blush, ivory and green and set centerpieces in gorgeous cut-glass vases to create this modern/traditional juxtaposition. Please enjoy the below photos from our own point-and-shoot.

A grand welcome via our Escort Card table design.

I hope to feature more from this wedding again soon – you must see how beautiful the Bride was with her handsome Groom! 😉

Red Hot and Modern Bar Mitzvah at the Plaza Hotel New York

By | Bar/Bat Mitzvahs | One Comment

When Orly came to us with her love of red Roses and crystal for her son Jake’s Bar Mitzvah, our creativity was set to task. How might one take these items and create a stunning, masculine party? With tight, contemporary styling and black crystal beading, this red Rose Bar Mitzvah at the Plaza Hotel in NYC was a dream come true for our client.

Submerged red Tulips are crowned with red Rose floral balls and then adorned with loops of Bear Grass for a uniquely modern look.

Hand-crafted black-beaded lampshade centerpiece, customized with JM monogram.

A dramatic Escort Card table greets guests in the Palm Court.

This stunning candletower of lush red Roses also features submerged red Tulips at its base.

Many thanks to Steve Rice of the Plaza Hotel and his excellent team for all of their hard work!

What a HONOR to have been paired up with catwalk icon Pat Cleveland and House of Field for Thursday night’s 9th Annual Tulips & Pansies!

Our headpiece was inspired by a David Dalrymple for House of Field ‘Keith Haring’ dress. Tulips, peonies, roses, sweet peas and phalaenopsis orchids attracted a throng of colorful butterflies in a flower-power funk-flashback that won us the title of Most Entertaining!

Announcing the winners!

What an amazing show!

Thank you to Patricia Field, David Dalrymple, Pat Cleveland and to ALL of our crew and friends for their love and support!

By | Non-Profit | 2 Comments

Last Thursday evening we had the pleasure of dreaming up a tablescape for The Horticultural Society of New York Flowers and Design Gala honoring landscape designer Christian Duvernois, floral designer and event planner David Monn and Betty Sherrill of McMillen Inc.

This year’s theme was “Legends, Myths & Fairy Tales”. Those seated at Tantawan’s table were transported to a glamorous realm under the sea!

Note the fish swimming in the floral coral reef! 😉
