It was an October weekend, but it was bitterly cold. And the party was in a tent! The client wanted it to be fun and cheerful, and had chosen blue and yellow as the colors I had to work with. Yes, you are right those are not easy colors to put together. If you are not careful it will look like an Easter Party.
The client, Amy, had also told me that she loves crystal, and she was really looking forward to a party that would be different, unique. Actually she used the word “delicious”. After a lot of agonizing on my part, I decided that a blue tablecloth with centerpieces of yellow flower design like French tulips, calla lilies, dahlia, roses and orchids was the way to make the blue and yellow design blended together nicely. Then we custom made five clear crystal ball chandeliers to hang over five other tables, each giving the impression of raindrops falling down onto arrangements of blue flowers with yellow tablecloths.
That night when Amy walked in to the tent, I saw her crying. They were tears of happiness and joy. We were so happy to make another beautiful bride’s dream come true!
